and two become one

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

I was lucky enough to share in a beautiful wedding day with the beautiful Semaphore foreshore as the backdrop. We had experienced some really rainy weather earlier in the week, but thankfully the sun came out in all it’s glory for the day. Thank you Jade and Scott for asking me to capture your special day, here is a sneak peak of some of my favourites.

pregnancy envy

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Tammy is looking totally fabulous while pregnant - I couldn’t help feeling a small pang of jealousy! I love being pregnant (just don’t tell my husband!) She’s also baking her first girl, after squeezing out 3 energetic boys! I’m not sure why these look so soft, I think I’ve messed up resizing them for the web :(

She’s also a fabulous crafty type person (imagine the total opposite of me!) - check out her blog for her fabulous creations! - http://tams-dragontails.blogspot.com/ And incase you need any confirmation about how amazing she is, this fabulous bag is mine! (and the smaller one belongs to Claire)

I can’t wait to photograph her new baby :)

I am proud to be a volunteer with the Australian Charity of Child Photographers, a wonderful charity that provides individual or family photographic portraits to families that meet the ACOCP criteria. Families that have experienced difficult times such as stillbirth, have critically premature and ill babies, or babies and children with serious and terminal illnesses are eligible to receive assistance from ACOCP and further information is on the ACOCP website - www.acocp.org.au

If you know of any families who would benefit from the services of ACOCP, please contact me, or your local state contact or a participating photographer in your area (listed on the ACOCP website in the “our photographers” section)

Sunday Drive

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

After a record breaking heat wave (15 days above 35° - it was awful!!) it was fabulous to have some cooler weather, so we piled into the carfor a nice Sunday drive. The kids had a blast, the scenery was lovely, and did I mention how much more agreeable the weather was?

Aidan got a toy camera for his birthday (it actually takes digital shots!), and he thinks he’s the bees knees!

Night Out

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

We went out for dinner with some friends and took a walk through the city while the Fringe was on. It was so busy, a great night - I love the Fringe!

My name in lights :p

Our view from the ferris wheel.
Our friends (in the shot bottom right!) thought the ferris wheel was a bit lame, but we loved it! The view was fabulous

twentieth day of january, kisses from grandma

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Grandma came around for a visit today, the kids always love catching up with their Grandma! There was plenty of lego building, looking after “babies” and of course the obligatory tea party.

Miss C has also scored some lovely outfits from a friend who’s outgrown them, and this is one of them! A couple of lovely floral tops, pants, a cute poncho - a very good score, in fact I’m sure C is secretly pleased that her friend has chubbied up!

We visited the home of our friends last night for a home made pizza night - scrummo! Thanks guys for having us, the pizzas were nice - but the dessert really topped it! Hooray for delicious icecream topped with assorted chopped chocolates and chocolate and cherry brandy sauce!

nineteenth day of january, beach weather

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

We woke up this morning to find it fantastic beach weather! We decided that we better do an obligatory bit of yard work (our yard is increasingly becoming overcome with weeds!), and then came the bad news…. Hubby was called into work.
The kids and I decided to keep our chin up (despite continually being reassured by Daddy that we are waaay more important than work!) and head to the beach by ourselves :)
Miss is very wary of the beach, unlike her brother who is water mad (though still not entirely confident of waves, he’s more of a pool swimmer). So Missy & I spent a fair bit of time watching from the sandy sidelines.

One GOOD thing I should mention about my darling husband is that he did arrive home last night with a new vertical grip for my camera :-) After an unexpected sale upgrade, he was a bit flushed with cash and decided that since I mentioned on the weekend about the existence of these vertical grips, that possibly I would like one! (bless his soul!)
I actually got a lot of use out of the grip today, mostly because I was able to hold the camera down near the ground and keep it in landscape to take my photo, where usually I would have to have been lying down for a shot from this angle! So yes, this photo was actually taken without me looking through the viewfinder (yes, I am clearly cool hehe)

Oh, and you might be looking and wondering about how UN-sunsmart we are looking in this photo. But honestly it was a little too breezy for hats (I’d already made a mad dash across the beach chasing one down!) and Miss doesn’t actually have a rashtop (it’s on the to-buy list!) BUT they do have sunscreen on!

dishes

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

No I’m not a slave driver, my kids actually asked to do the dishes! Who am I to say no? He actually did a pretty good job, though she was more intent on practicing her pouring skills! She needed a change of clothes afterwards, it’s wet going doing the dishes! They already unpack the dishwasher, so I see this as a natural progression in domesticating them. I’ll have little housemaids soon enough *insert evil laugh*

my poor baby

Friday, January 11th, 2008

My poor baby with a cut lip. Rest assured I had cuddled her before this point, and I only took one frame as I didn’t want to make her feel like she’s in the Truman show :p

It can’t have been that bad as she was gobbling down her tea soon afterwards!

A family outing

Friday, January 11th, 2008

We’ve moved offices to Brompton and we decided to check out the new “local”, with kids in tow! So special thanks to the The Brompton for having us for tea, and probably having my children annoy other patrons and then still have the staff smile and thank us for coming as we left!

blah blah blah, I love how it looks like he is bored to tears with her conversation!

He ate all of his tea (NOT a regular occurrence in his life!)

Loving her spaghetti bolognese (we didn’t scare off the diners behind her, we went in reasonably early and those tables weren’t yet taken!)
