A beautiful day in Adelaide

November 28th, 2008

A beautiful Sunday in Adelaide, perfect for a walk with camera in tow. One of the aims for this day was to take some happy photographs of both children together to use in our family’s Christmas Cards, however my children seemed to be very sombre as soon as I pointed the camera at them (I think they’re over the whole photographer experience!). So of all the shots I took of them together - this is the least sombre looking! I’m thankful that they seemed marginally happier in the others :p

Ideally I’d like to try and take some more photographs of them together, but realistically I think that everyone will be getting sombre Christmas Cards this year….

Happy 3rd Birthday Princess!

November 4th, 2008

To my darling daughter, the last 3 years have been bliss. Thank you for being so special!

My family were so impressed with her birthday cake that they immediately suspected I was telling porky pies about making it myself!

More special thanks must go to the talented Danielle Stahl who I blatantly copied this cake from. However once my daughter saw it on Danielle’s Blog - she begged and begged (and begged!) me to make her one the same!

Happy First Birthday!

I was lucky enough to take some photos of one of my favourite little boys on his very first birthday!

A Mummy's boy - on his first birthday!

It was such a pleasure to meet Miss A and her lovely parents, and isn’t she just gorgeous! Here are a few of my favourites from our time together, with more to come later :)
Did I mention she was gorgeous? How’s this for sleeping beauty!

and look at her itty bitty feet in Daddy’s hands - so sweet!

Is that a cheeky smile I see?

Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your family, I am looking forward to sharing the rest of the session with you.

growing a beautiful family

July 20th, 2008

Introducing Sarah and her blooming beautiful belly!

I must say that if Sarah’s daughters are anything to go by, she is baking one beautiful baby!

Thanks again Sarah!

all pretty quiet on the blog front…..

June 21st, 2008

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately - I’ve really been swamped with quite a few things going on around here! My husband and I run our own small business and it has really been prioritised lately (much to my camera’s disappointment!)

Here’s a really quick summary of some of the things I’ve been up to:

  • Imogen continues to do well after her enucleation (having her eye removed) after being diagnosed with retinoblastoma, this is wonderful *wonderful* news!

  • I should also make a special mention to the amazing Simone Hanckel who offered her time and *extraordinary* skills and took photos of Immy and her family the day before her surgery. Simone is an inspirational photographer whose ability to capture feeling and emotion is second to none, and of course she’s such a lovely person! Thanks so much for your generosity Simone!
  • I made a trip to Brisbane earlier late last month to catch up with friends, attend the ACOCP AGM, and also check out the PMA Expo (which is an expo showcasing all things photographic, imagery etc). I had a fabulous time, and also got to meet some awesome photographers (and friends!) Thanks for the QLD hospitality - I had a fabulous time!
  • I’ve just upgraded my desktop computer and am now running a 24″ iMac - it’s a totally trendy machine and the screen is glorious!
  • My neighbour and I headed across to Arno Bay (on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia) over the first part of the June long weekend where my very good friend celebrated her 30th birthday, it was a great night with fabulous country hospitality. We had driven over in the Mini and were more than happy to catch the ferry on the way home between Lucky Bay and Wallaroo to save us a bit of driving - it was great to be able to curl up and relax after a big night rather than sitting behind the wheel!
  • Last month I checked out my brother Dave’s band Abeyant playing live - totally rocking!

That’s about all I can remember at this point, I will endeavor to stay more in touch!

striped sheep?

May 16th, 2008

How’s the cuteness factor? My little man asked if his jumper was made by stripy sheep!

alas the jumper is in fact made of cotton!
Update on Imogen: she is recovering well after surgery on Tuesday (she’s such a little trooper!). She and her family are constantly in our thoughts, they are awaiting the results of some tests which be fairly important in regards to Immy’s future health and family. Please cuddle your little ones closer, and keep Imogen in your thoughts xxx

thinking of Imogen

May 8th, 2008

My friend’s beautiful 4 month old baby is in the WCH hospital at the moment with doctors investigating a tumour that has been found in her eye.  My thoughts, love and strength with Imogen and her family during this difficult time. Please keep her in your thoughts as she is in mine, stay strong darling girl xxxooo

Sicky

May 6th, 2008

We’ve had a sick boy in the household the last few days (and don’t we know it!) He’s all chesty and his barky cough is awful, hopefully he’s on the mend soon…. I’m also hoping that the rest of us manage to avoid it, I’ve got a busy month coming up and I really don’t want to be sick!

I must admit that the benefit of him not being 100% well is that he was a bit more compliant in standing in front of the camera, and i managed to get a couple of him actually standing still (I know, shock horror!)

pretty in pink

May 4th, 2008

I am in love!

A friend lovingly handmade me a pink pettiskirt, and it’s stunning! There is so much work involved in making a pettiskirt like this, there is actually sooo much fabric in it, with a lot of intricate sewing! I can’t wait to take more photographs, and I already have had a few requests from mums who want their little girls to be photographed wearing it :)
Thanks Tammy!
